Akash : The tiny tablet that created buzz

Tablet computers are very popular now. The market is slowly being filled by tablet computers and they are getting a good market share. The easiness to use and round the clock availability is had made the tablet computers the first option for entry level computing. The major player of tablets is apples I-pad. I-pad had changed the way we look at tablet computers by its great touch experience and due to this tablet computers are becoming main replacement to laptops. In this series the latest tablet that had an impact on general masses is akash tablet.

Fantastic display with the touch screen technology has moved the tablets to the main stream. Its impact is vital both on college student as well as business representative. The handiest thing is that the tablets are eliminating the need of having laptop as well as PDA. The computing power of tablet computers ensures that you are never away from social networking.

There was a lot of research done by the top brains of India to bring the akash tablet to such lower cost and satisfy the minimum performance benchmarks. The tablet still suffers from lower performance which needs to be improved. The huge demand from Indian young generation is the main factor for such a low cost. The tablet cost about 35$ which is too low than any other entry level tablet in the market.

Since akash tablet is an initiative of government its prices are predicted to come further down by subsidizing the cost and by increase more production. This tablet runs on android 2.2 platform and have a decent touch screen interface as accompanied by most of the tablets of this range. The tablet is also provided with Wi-Fi support for connectivity to internet. The tablet has passed its first test of low cost and is reaching the public and that's where it has to show its mettle to the Tech Savvy Indian young generation. The performance benchmarks for akash tablet are not so high as expected at this price but still it have to show the power of raw computing.
