Popular PC Hardware Issues and Solutions

By Tyler Maven

Here are some typical pc problems that you may want to resolve your self rather than spending cash on a laptop or computer technician. Some of them may sound to be very serious but you’ll surely be surprised how simple it can all turn out.

Now what will you do if your speakers won’t make a sound? Simply take a look at the back of your pc and check on the speaker connections on the sound card and modem. It's very possible that the single stereo speaker plug isn't plugged onto the socket on the sound card. All you have to do is plug it in the socket marked Audio or Speaker.

Another typical difficulty would be your laptop or computer starting up normally but would wind up having a blank screen. Do not freak out and just check on the cables as they may not be correctly attached. If the cables are good then the power button of your monitor may|might have not been turned on.

You may also experience an unclear or fuzzy images displayed on your monitor. This is not a very severe dilemma at all. You just have to be aware that monitors and your computer as a whole are sensitive to electro-magnetic interference. To steer clear of this, keep cell phones, televisions, radios, microwaves, dishwashers and even washing machines away from your personal computer. Even your speakers can trigger these interferences so do not let put them too close to the monitor.

Lots of folks would also find it to be a problem to only have 16 colors on the screen. This is simply because the default settings for Windows are only 16 colors. For you to have the ability to have 256 colors or more, you will have to install the video drivers appropriately. There are directions on the way to install these drivers that comes with the package once you purchase them.

Another problem that you may encounter is with your CD player. CDs may keep on playing in the first couple of seconds of the song and then skips to the next song. There nothing wrong with your personal computer if this happens. Just verify the settings of your CD player and set it to continuous play.

The last challenge would be your keyboard which would come up with the wrong symbols. As you know Windows is made in America and so the default country would be America including the default language. You can easily change the language and the regional setting in the control panel. There you can personalize the settings of your pc to best suit you.
