If the photo seems to be too light however then set the bright control to come up with the setting your prefer. If a too bright scale is adjusted, it will then result to pure white. All the details that are not important on the area may be eliminated. The same application can happen with darker images. So, just make use of the necessary options to come up with the best.

When adjusting the midtones however, the pixels in the darker or brighter area of the image will not be totally affected. Only those pixels beyond the extremes are. This setting will allow you to make the photo lighter or darker without blowing out the adjusted highlights. You can adjust manually the device to come up with more saturation and sharpening of the picture.

Do any controls only if it does require you to do so. If not then leave it that way and be contented. Be always contented of a high quality result. Master the concept of the saturation option that you might also be needing. Do not apply over saturation as the image may tend to be beyond the focus.

Most scanning software automatically chooses the best setting for you. It is you however that will control everything as you know how things must be done according to your tastes and artistry. Any setting will do as long as you first will learn how to scan. It is good to read some books as well or research regarding the various adjustments that must be done when dealing with an image.
