What You Need To Know About The 3 Redirection Mechanisms

By Tommie Newman

With the advancement of technology, computers play a big role in the success of people's works. They make doing the tasks faster and more efficient. Even though they have many purposes, their main role is related to communication. These machines use the 3 redirection mechanisms for this function.

These are the methodologies employed for information transfer in the computer through internet connectivity. These are the HTTP, TCP, and the DNS. They are all used for data transfer although they have different ways of doing it.

HTTP is an acronym for hypertext transfer protocol. It is a technique that is used to transfer data from a server to a client. This is especially useful when one researches or looks for different materials online.

This allocates a certain address of a specific data to the universal resource locators commonly known as the URL. The internal and web servers are familiar with this addresses. These are the ones that is typed in the browser to open a specific site that will retrieve the data from the servers.

Transport communication protocol or TCP is another category in this field. It transfers data from one computer to another if they are connected in one server. The information is transferred by segments and will only be assemble when the whole thing is stored in the recipient.

The third category is the DNS or domain name system. It translates machine language to IP addresses. It also works the other way around. The world is stocked up with DNS servers so the connection will be made possible.

Each of the 3 redirection mechanisms have their pros and cons. But, more people prefer using the DNS. It is due to the ease of its monitoring process and the efficiency of its delivery.
