Power and Small Laptop Computers

Whether you are a small businessman or a college student, small laptops are practical and convenient for all your needs. Hauling a large computer to classes or traveling with one on business trips just doesn’t work.

In today’s competitive computer market there are several manufacturers that produce powerful as well as extremely
portable small laptops. These computers have all the speed and features anyone would need to perform almost any task. They are a perfect size for travel on almost any form of transportation.

As a student you would be able study in any location and have quick and easy access to all your school files. You could go home for a weekend or holiday whenever you want and not miss out on valuable study time.

I am sure most of us have had the experience of sitting on a plane and not being able to fully open our computers in the small cramped space allotted each passenger. With a small laptop you can easily open your computer, set it on the tray in front of you and begin working.

There are a few key questions to ask yourself before shopping for one of these small laptops. What will you primarily use it for? How much memory or speed will you need? Is it important for you to have a large screen and beefy speakers? I have listed a few small
laptops below as an example of what is out there and how much they cost.

ASUS Eee PC 904HA

These small laptops are a value especially for students or small business on a budget. They list for as little as $350. The pluses for this model are that it has a 160GB hard drive and three USB ports. On the negative side it is slightly weightier and does not have a DVD drive.

HP Mini (AKA 2113)

These small laptops have been specifically created for the traveling population. It has an aluminum shell, titanium chasis, HP3D sever service hard drive and a moisture-resistant keyboard. This is the smallest of the three and is only outmatched in thinness by the Mac Air. It is also a great value with a price tag around $750.

Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-S1001X

If you are looking for small laptops that are heavy duty this is the one. Also in the $800 range it may be the strongest and when plugged into an energy source (even when turned off) it can charge any USB item.

Apple MacBook MB061LL/B

This computer is not the smallest on the small laptop list and is also a bit heavier. It has a larger screen size, not great for travel but some people prefer the larger screen size. At $970 it is also not the cheapest in the small laptops category. It does have excellent WI-Fi connectivity and can pick up a signal almost anywhere.

I have given you a sampling of what is available in the small laptops category. So evaluate for yourself with an online search of the various laptop makes and models. Get recommendations from a friend or colleague before you take the plunge.
