Flat Screen TVs - Reaching The Point Of Saturation?

Children are taught early that an excess of anything is a bad thing. However, is this the case when you are watching television? Certainly giving to much of your free time watching TV is not good for your health, however what if you have the ability to raise the quality of your viewing pleasure? Generally speaking Flat screen TVs end up under the maxim of 'bigger is better', however you need to understand the variations in technology prior to going into such a major purchase.

The challenge in the recent past wasn't that all of the flat screen televisions were better in functionality compared to their round screen counterparts. The monitor for your personal computer was highly popular and provided a resolution of very high density. That flat screen was implemented over to big screen televisions. There is a major type of problem with those giagantic leviathans. As the size of most screens was increased, the resolution as well as the color ended up becoming distorted. Therefore, a person would have a giant picture, but the quality wasn't as good as that of small 27" televisions.

When people discuss flat screen TVs in today's technologically advanced world, most are referring to a LCD or plasma television. With a plasma TV, the size of the screen does not matter, as far as the resolution is concerned. Because of the raised concentration level of pixels and the accompanying programmin from the television is can provide and unbelievably crisp and clear picture. It is significant to note that the 52" screen has similar quality of picture as a 40" and there are times when it is outfitted with what is known as motion software which makes the movements you see on-screen extremely fluid.

As with anything being too much, sometimes the prices for these televisions can be more than the average consumer wishes to spend. Flat screen televisions are quite expensive when compared to their cathode-ray cousins. People interested in this technology are going to pay for it. There are some 52" HDTV Plasma Televisions that come from Samsung that can get up to ,000.00 and that may be more than you want to spend on a boob tube.

Flat screen TVs are very nice. No one is disputing this fact, but it is up to each individual consumer to make that decision on whether or not the price is right for them. Sure too much television is a bad thing and if you are someone who does not watch television often, then the expensive TV may not be a wise choice. But for those who live their lives around the latest technological gadgets, a plasma or LCD television cannot be beat.

Playing Your Most Coveted Games On An LCD Flat Screen

Any gamer worth his or her salt would agree that an LCD flat screen is the only way to enjoy playing and watching the latest video gaming systems. It does make sense that if you were going to spend over three hundred dollars on a gaming system alone, not adding in the cost of video games that can range from thirty to fifty dollars, then you would want the best viewing possible. It is an absolute necessity.

A huge flat screen television is a great way to enjoy the gaming experience. Most new LCD flat screen TVs offer a decided advantage when compared to older televisions. When plugging in DVD players, VCRs or gaming systems, you must have AV cords that come with the equipment. The AV cords plug into the AV inputs. Stereo televisions have three of these inputs that combine to allow the sound and picture signals to travel from the gaming device to the television. Some older models, specifically the non-stereo versions, may only have one set of ports.

New LCD flat screen TVs offer AV ports in the rear and on the sides of the screen. This allows for more electronic equipment to be run through the television. For gamers, this is absolutely essential. Game AV cables take up one set of AV ports and there are still ports available for surround sound, DVD players and another gaming system. Every gamer knows that one gaming system is never enough.

Do not waste your time with a big screen television. You will be much happier investing your money in an LCD flat screen. Yes, the initial price of the larger models will be a bit of a sticker shock, but if you compare the size with what you had in the past, then you will see that it is a great investment. On the bright side, the models are thinner and take up less space which means more room for your games.

Having a big television is not always what it is cracked up to be. Those big monstrosities that take up so much room but deliver horrible picture quality and sound are out. You need to get with the times and get yourself a plasma TV. There are plenty of plasma televisions to choose from. You can opt for a 42" and hang it on your wall. You can have a 52" that resonates with beautiful picture quality and sound. LCD and Plasma TVs - What's The Difference Between The Two?

First and foremost before you cease reading, you should know that most people cannot tell the difference, physically, between LCD and plasma TVs. Most people can tell the difference immediately between a standard cathode-ray television and a flat screen television. The difference is in the size, but it is more than just the size of the screen. If a television is bulky, then chances are pretty high that it is a cathode-ray tv set. Without getting really technical, the inside of the cathode-ray screen resembles a glass science beaker laid on its side. The wide end is the part that you watch and electrons are funneled from the narrow end.

The main difference between LCD and plasma TVs is what is put between the two pieces of glass that make up the picture. Plasma TVs have gas which produces the color and LCD uses liquid crystals. The crystals filter the color whereas the gas charges the particles into phosphors. The phosphors are red, green and blue and come together into pixels which produce the picture.

So, which of the two are better? That is a matter of opinion but plasma flat screen televisions do suffer from excessive heat if left on too long and can have what is called a "screen burn." A screen burn occurs when a static image is left on the screen for a long time and remains even when you change the channel. This can also easily happen with computer monitors.

If the confusing information did not daunt you and you kept reading, then you should know that LCD and plasma TVs are much better than the previous models of television sets. The slim design and space they utilize often make them worth the purchase. When you factor in the clear pictures and better quality, you quickly become sold on the idea of owning one. Whatever type you choose, compare the pictures and the costs before you make the purchase. If you check around the different retail stores, then you may be able to find a great deal.

Are you still dealing with that bulky television you bought ten years ago? Why would you continue to torment yourself with the picture quality from those archaic models? You need a new plasma TV to change how you watch television forever. Yes, they are more expensive than those hulking models but look at the picture! That should sell you on the plasma television more so than anything else could ever do. If you still are not convinced then look at the sleek design. These models can be mounted on your wall. Think about the space you will save. Browse for your new television by clicking here: Philips Plasma Tv and at Refurbished Plasma Tv

Some Background History on Plasma TV

When considering the history of plasma television screens, you have to understand the history that is behind this remarkable invention. The first plasma screen television has come quite a long way. However, the reason for the invention was not simply to provide men with amazing sports viewing.

The plasma TV developed as a result of the computer generation. It is incredible that the plasma based viewing device is not a new idea. It has been around for quite some time. Perhaps a bit of a history lesson is in order for you to understand how this application came to be available for the masses.

It all began in 1964 at the University of Illinois. At this time, computer monitors were simple televisions. You have to realize that the televisions at this time were cathode ray tubes. They had to continuously refresh themselves in order to display correctly. That was a big problem when using a television as a computer monitor. Sure it was okay for watching tv shows, but the resolution for computers was terrible. By the end of the year the first plasma monitor was in operation.

Today's plasma TVs have millions of cells that comprise the color and resolution of the screen. That initial plasma monitor was only one cell. However, it was still a step in the right direction. There was a set back, though. Liquid crystal displays became the more acceptable method and plasma technology was put on hold. Fast forward a few years and flat screen television sets became widely popular.

Where would the world be without technology constantly pushing it forward? Sure a plasma TV did not put man on the moon or allow for cell cloning, but it was a huge development at the time and has greatly affected the economy. Three years ago a plasma television 42 inch wide was considered only for the rich and famous. Today, many consumers can now afford to own one of these technological marvels.

Thank you scientists at the University of Illinois for bringing men and women everywhere the ability to watch games on a plasma TV. Where would technology be if necessity had not demanded you devise a new computer monitor? We would probably still be watching our big screen television sets and never knowing that a clearer picture was possible at a decent price.

Some Price Points on Samsung LCD

If you have ever moved in the past, then you know that your old television was a huge pain in the hindquarters to lug around. The older sets were huge and bulky. They did not have a fantastic picture either. This is especially true when compared to a brand new Samsung LCD television. The LCD is a great example of the newer models available on the market. Stop lugging around that old set because this one is slimmer than that cumbersome unit you have now.

Did you know that a flat screen television does not necessarily mean it is an LCD? Assuming that you already knew this information, then you need to check out the Samsung LCD television. A Samsung Tv ranges in size from 42" upwards to a 52" and will give you a clear, sharp picture. Once you check out the difference, the old model television you have sitting in your living room taking up valuable space will likely find its way out the door. Yes, the Samsung is going to cost more but once you check out the features you will probably see that it is worth the price.

The LCD Samsung TV starts off in pricing at $1800.00 for the 40" and is the base model. It is missing some of the software and technical specs that the higher end models have. The start off price is for the N8. Other 40" flat screen televisions are around the $2500.00 mark but do come equipped with the 100Mh Motion Plus software that allows for smoother movements on screen.

If you are looking for a much bigger television, such as the 52" high end model, then you are looking at close to $3,300.00. Yes, it is a sizeable amount of money to put into a television. The downside to investing so much money in a piece of technological equipment is that, like the computer world, technology is constantly changing. Development for better picture quality, more features and slimmer designs stop for no man or beast.

If you cannot decide on which size and model of a Samsung LCD you want, then visit your local retailer and do a little comparison shopping. There really is not a huge difference between brands except for cost. Most offer similar features and designs to help attract more sales. Samsung does a great job of keeping up and sometimes being ahead of the LCD pack.
